And it started on opening night, with Marian University recording a thrilling 5-4 victory over Stevens Point. In addition to the Raiders sweeping Concordia by scores of 7-3 and 6-1, the Bulldogs also posted an impressive victory over the USA Under-18 squad.
More teams join the action this weekend, with Lawrence University, Lake Forest College and Northland College all getting their seasons underway.

Plenty of storylines remain in place as the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association enters the final month of the regular season. In the Southern Division, Adrian College and MSOE both swept weekend series to remain deadlocked heading down the stretch. The Bulldogs (6-1 and 9-2 winners over Finlandia) and Raiders (2-0 and 4-2 over Lawrence) are now tied at 12-1-1 in MCHA play and, coincidentally, 15-3-1 overall. A head-to-head series to close out the regular season looms the final weekend.

The 2011-12 regular season is underway and, two weekends of play into it, the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association has seen its share of highlights already. Two of the main storylines involve MSOE and Adrian College. The Raiders jumped out to a quick 2-0 start in league play, while the No. 4 Bulldogs overcame a 4-1 second-period deficit in knocking off No. 12 Geneseo in overtime last weekend.
