“The new rink opens up better ice time for practices,” said CUW Athletic Director, Dr. Rob Barnhill. “We will be able to schedule practices in the afternoon for both the men’s and women’s teams, rather than have the men practice in the middle of the day and the woman practice in the morning or at night.” Updates include a new, expanded private locker room, for both men and women, a private athletic training room, and office space for coaches and staff. There are also new scoreboards at each end of the ice and plenty of outside parking for fans during games. As part of the grand opening, the men’s CUW hockey team will host Gustavus Adolphus at 8 p.m. on December 9. There is free admission to the game for all CUW students, faculty, and staff. Founded in 1881, Concordia University Wisconsin's main campus is located on 200 acres of beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline at 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mequon. Plenty of storylines remain in place as the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association enters the final month of the regular season. In the Southern Division, Adrian College and MSOE both swept weekend series to remain deadlocked heading down the stretch. The Bulldogs (6-1 and 9-2 winners over Finlandia) and Raiders (2-0 and 4-2 over Lawrence) are now tied at 12-1-1 in MCHA play and, coincidentally, 15-3-1 overall. A head-to-head series to close out the regular season looms the final weekend.

The grand opening of the new ice rink at the Ozaukee Ice Center in Cedarburg will take place on Friday, December 9th from 5:30 to 7 p.m. followed by a home hockey game for the Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) men’s team. The facility, located on Pioneer Road, is now larger and full of updates to better accommodate CUW hockey players and staff that will use the facility during the season.
