The 1-0-1 weekend takes MSOE to 10-3-1 in league play and 21 points, just two points behind the Bulldogs, who are 11-2-1 (23 points) and in search of their fifth-consecutive MCHA regular season title.
Marian University is also still alive, and stand in at 8-3-3 (19 points) after a split with Finlandia University with six games remaining for each team in the 2011-12 regular season.
A pair of teams recorded weekend sweeps to round out league action, with Lawrence University topping Northland College, 3-0 and 3-2, to strengthen its hold on second place in the division. Lastly, Lake Forest came up with its best results of the season, sweeping Concordia by scores of 6-2 and 5-1 to also remain alive for a chance at a postseason berth.
Other nominees: Luke Swardenski (Lake Forest)
-Lake Forest College Foresters junior goaltender Brendan Sullivan (Fall River, Mass.) is the MCHA Defensive Player of the Week after going 2-0 against Concordia. He was seeing his first action of the season and stopped 27 of 29 shots in Friday's 6-2 win before adding 18 more saves to complete the sweep. He posted a .938 save percentage in the series. Other nominees: Connor Toomey (MSOE), Mike Wuthrich (Finlandia)
-Lawrence University Vikings goaltender Peter Emery (Goleta, Calif.) is the MCHA Freshman of the Week after a pair of impressive victories between the pipes against Northland. Friday night he made 29 saves in posting the shutout, holding the 'Jacks to an 0-for-7 showing on the power play. Then, Saturday, he made 29 more saves - including two important ones in the last two minutes. He helped hold NC to a 1-for-15 showing on the power play in the series and stopped 58 of 60 shots for a .967 save percentage. Other nominees: Josh Keizer (MSOE), Luke Swardenski (Lake Forest), Gustav Lindgern (Lawrence) |

Plenty of storylines remain in place as the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association enters the final month of the regular season. In the Southern Division, Adrian College and MSOE both swept weekend series to remain deadlocked heading down the stretch. The Bulldogs (6-1 and 9-2 winners over Finlandia) and Raiders (2-0 and 4-2 over Lawrence) are now tied at 12-1-1 in MCHA play and, coincidentally, 15-3-1 overall. A head-to-head series to close out the regular season looms the final weekend.

The MSOE Raiders took to the road and the imposing task of playing a pair of games against Adrian College at Arrington Ice Arena this past weekend and played impressively, recording a 3-3 tie Friday before adding a 6-1 victory to their record on Saturday in front of sellout crowds each game.
